Adjectives

An adjective is a word which adds desription to a noun. In advanced language study, adjectives can also be called pre or post-modifiers. Pre if the adjectives comes before the noun, and post if it comes after it. There are many different adjectives in the English Language, including the examples below;

This book is really exciting.

My big, hairy dog just had his tea.

Gemma and Heather are amazing.

As you can see with the example above, there is not a limit to how many adjectives you can have in a sentence, and, in many stories and poems, it is the adjectives which allow the author to create the mood that he/she requires from the work.
